Muay Thai
Muay Thai, often called the art of eight limbs, is Thailands traditional striking system. It uses punches, kicks, knees, and elbows, blending high-intensity striking with close-range clinch fighting. The art is known for its conditioning demands, powerful strikes, and balanced stance designed for both offense and defense. Training builds toughness, focus, and technical precision.
In amateur competition, rules are modified to support safety while preserving the essence of the sport. Athletes wear protective gear such as headgear, shin guards, and padded elbow protection. Bouts are scored on effective strikes, ring control, and dominance in the clinch. Fighters compete by weight class, and the use of all eight striking points is permitted within controlled boundaries. The result is a competitive environment that teaches respect, discipline, and controlled power.
