Boxing
Boxing is a long-established combat sport that focuses entirely on the use of the fists. Although simple in concept, it demands exceptional conditioning, footwork, timing, and strategy. Athletes develop the ability to defend, counter, and control distance while reading their opponents rhythm and habits. Despite its intensity, amateur boxing is structured to emphasize safety and technical skill.
In amateur competition, fighters wear headgear, standard gloves, and mouthguards, and bouts are scored on clean, effective punches. Weight classes ensure fair competition, and rounds are shorter than those in professional boxing to support athlete safety. Fighters are matched by age and experience, and judges evaluate ring generalship, accuracy, and defensive skill as much as offense.
